Installing the Filters & Getting Them to Work
1. You must be running Windows 95 and at least PSP 4.0 for the filters to work.
2. You will also need a copy of the MSVCRT10.DLL file. If you don't have it, you can download a copy at the Filter Factory website.
3. Copy the file to your Windows/System directory
Follow each and every step. If the filters don't load for you, double check that you have
completed all steps of the installation, then check the FAQ
If you have converted your filters from .ffl to .8bf using
PiCo, skip to step 9
- Download the filters from a source known to work with PSP 4.14
- Download MSVCRT10.DLL available from The Filter Factory
- Copy MSVCRT10.DLL into your windows/system directory
- Open Windows Explorer
- Locate and highlight the PSP directory in the left window
- Create a new plugin directory
- Double check that you have copied the MSVCRT10.DLL into your Windows/System directory
- Unzip the filters to the PSP 4.0 plugin directory.
- Open PSP 4.14
- Click on FILE/PREFERENCES/GENERAL PROGRAM PREFERENCES on the menu bar
- Click on the PLUGIN FILTERS tab
- Click on BROWSE in the plugin filters window
- Locate your PSP 4.0 Plugin directory and click on it once t highlight it
- Click Select
- Click ok
- Close PSP
- Re-open PSP
- Open an existing graphic, or a 'new' graphic window
- If you click on images on the menu bar at this point, you should see "loading plugins..." at the bottom of the dropdown menu.
- Wait for them to load. Sometimes you'll hear a beep when loading is finished
- Click on IMAGES/PLUGIN FILTERS
- Wah-lah! A pop-up window with all your new filters will open!
