1. Open a new image 24 bits, white background size 100X100 for this example.

heart01 2. Click on the text tool and I used for this the Ding Bats 2 Font..size 48 Bold...letter T (this gives you a heart shape)

heart02 Note: If you happen to lack the Ding Bats 2 Font, open your character map and check your fonts for a heart shape. I found hearts in ZBats-PS and Symbol. When I tried to type a letter to create the heart for my image it would not do so, but if I typed the code for the heart, while it didn't show in the text box, did appear in my image window.

heart03 3. Click ok...Choose your lighter color as foreground and darker color as background. Flood fill the shape with a sunburst gradient fill.

heart04 4. Apply a cutout, settings: shadow color black, opacity 164, blur 20, un click fill interior with color, vertical 3, horizontal 3.

heart05 5. Click on image, special filters, dilate. 6. Click on image, special effects, add drop shadow, settings: shadow color = black opacity 180 blur 10 vertical 5 horizontal 5. 7.Right click to remove the selection. 8. Save
