Client Area - input area of the active window (Everything below the title-bar and menu bar)
Window - entire active window including the title and menu bars
Object - window feature or group of features (use object to capture the file menu drop-down boxes)
Three ways to activate the Capture Feature
Right Mouse Click
Hot Key - The hot key allows you to manuever, opening closing or moving windows until your desired selection area is just where and how you want it. The funtion will not preform until you are ready and have pressed the hotkey on your keyboard.
Delay Timer - The capture is preformed a specified number of seconds after you click either the Capture Now or the Start button. If you have also specified an area to capture, the function will not complete until the specified delay time after you select the area.
an interval in seconds between the time that the capture is initiated and the time that it is performed.
Capture Options
Include Curser - Include your curser in the capture area
Multiple Capture - If this box is checked, you can do multiple captures, if it is not checked, PSP will do one capture and automatically revert to the normal graphic functions.
Note: The only way I've found to capture a window or area within the PSP program itself is to open two copies of the program simultaneously, using the second copy to preform the capture on the first copy.
Full Screen
start the application
to copy the whole screen, arrange the open windows as you want them to appear in the captured image
Activate Paint Shop Pro - (make it the top window)
Click on Capture/Start on the menu bar (Paint Shop Pro will automatically minimize, the application you wish to capture will be the top window if it was the last window opened before PSP.
Activate the capture using the method you chose. (note: I find the hotkey to be easiest for me.)
Capturing an Area or Object
Place the cursor over the area or object that you want to capture.
If you are using the Include Cursor Option, place the cursor where you want it to appear in your screen shot.
If you are capturing an area or an object, you must specify the area or object that you want to capture.
