Open a new window, 100 x 50 and immediately add a new layer. Select the Preset Shape Tool; specify the following settings:

  • preset shape
  • filled
  • create vector unchecked

Draw out your preset shape, offsetting it a little to the top and left of the window to allow room for a drop shadow.

With the Magic Wand Tool, select the colored area by clicking inside of it.

Click on Image / Effects / Outer Bevel on the menu bar. Specify the following settings:

  • Angle Bevel
  • Width: 1
  • Smoothness: 21
  • Depth: 13
  • Ambience: -12
  • Shininess: 25
  • Light: color
  • Angle: 315
  • Intensity: 42
  • Elevation: 36

Add a drop shadow:

  • Color: black
  • Opacity: 81
  • Blur: 8.1
  • Vertical: 3
  • Horizontal: 3

Add a new layer. Select the Preset Shape Tool again, same tool settings. Draw another shape smaller than the first using a different color. Fit it evenly within the boundaries of the first shape.

With the Magic Wand Tool select the area filled by the new color.

After you have made the selection go to Images / Effects / Outer Bevel, specifying the following settings:

  • Angle Bevel
  • Width: 1
  • Smoothness: 21
  • Depth: 13
  • Ambience: -12
  • Shininess: 25
  • Light: color
  • Angle: 315
  • Intensity: 42
  • Elevation: 36

Add a drop shadow.

  • Color: black
  • Opacity: 81
  • Blur: 8.1
  • Vertical: 0
  • Horizontal: 0
